The lichen fields along the skeleton coast are fascinating! They have survived thousands of years in this harsh climate because they are drought resistant and able to live off moisture from sea mists. You’ll find bright orange, green, blue, gray, brown or black varieties and some even change color with moisture. They are incredibly vulnerable to crushing and unfortunately many careless travelers who drive/walk offroad here don’t realize that the lichens they kill could take hundreds of years to grow back! @toriwill22 @glister22 #skeletoncoast #skeletoncoastnamibia #namibia #travelnamibia #overlanders #overland #travelafrica #exploreafrica #lovenamibia #camping #explorers #travelphotography #travelblogger #wanderlust #travelhappy
This abandoned mine along the Skeleton Coast was straight out of my Mad Max post apocalyptic fantasies! #namibia #skeletoncoast #explorenamibia #travelnamibia #africaroadtrip #defender #landroverdefender #landrover #overland #overlanding #overlandafrica #camping #exploreafrica #wanderlust #bucketlist #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelhappy #travelbug

They call it the “Skeleton Coast” because this rough shoreline has served as a graveyard for many unlucky ships that have wrecked here over hundreds of years. You’ll also find whale bones and seal carcasses littered along the desolate beaches #namibia #skeletoncoast #explorenamibia #exploreafrica #overland #overlanding #overlandafrica #camping #wanderlust #travelhappy
The triumphant day that Boomie reached the Atlantic Ocean! Can’t believe we made the drive all the way from the Indian Ocean in Mozambique to the Atlantic in Namibia #coasttocoast #skeletoncoast #namibia #travelafrica #travelnamibia #overlanding #overland #defender #landrover #landroverdefender #camping #explore #wanderlust
Our first glimpses of the Skelton Coast of Namibia came just as the sun set. We camped outside the Springbokwasser gate and entered the park at dawn because you are only allowed day passes to drive through #namibia #overlanding #camping #africaoverlanders #explorenamibia #skeletoncoast #travelblogger #travelphotography #explore #travel #wanderlust #travelhappy
The 36m high Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest in Asia. It is the center of Tibetan buddhism in Nepal and one of my favorite spots to visit around Kathmandu #nepal #lovenepal #visitnepal #travelphotography #wanderlust #yourshotphotographer
Once you’ve seen the himalayas, you are pretty much ruined for all other mountains #nepal #lovenepal #himalayas #himalayasnepal #travelogotography #discovernepal #trekkingnepal #annapurnas #mountainlover
The endlessly fascinating Goroka Show - the oldest running “sing sing” in PNG which showcases the music/dance/culture of over 100 tribes from all over the country. It takes place over independence day weekend in Goroka- capital of the eastern highlands. #papuanewguinea #travelpng #lovepng #explorepng #travelphotography #wanderlust #discovertheworld #travelhappy #travelblogger #bucketlist #natgeoyourshot
Amazing faces of Papua New Guniea. So much history, so much culture. Such a privilege to see! #gorokashow #papuanewguinea #lovepng #travelphotography #traveler #natgeoyourshot #natgeoadventure #addictedtotravel #bucketlist #bucketlisttravel #photooftheday
I love nudibranches, flatworms and all things tiny and bright! Couldn’t even keep up how many we found in Milne Bay. The record was 22 in one dive 😄 #papuanewguinea #milnebay #tawali #scubadiving #scuba #dive #diveaddicts #diveaddiction #scubaphoto #scubalife #divephotography
Fantastical creatures found in Milne Bay Papua New Guinea : weedy scorpion fish / fairy crab / anenome shrimp / yellow leaf fish 😄 #diveaddicts #papuanewguinea #divepng #pngscuba #macrodiving #scubadiving #divephotography #muckdiving
The incredible desert adapted elephants of Damaraland. These elephants can go several days without water and survive by regurgitating water held in their stomachs. They take dust baths instead of water bath to keep cool and protect their skin #adventuresofgandt #namibia #damaraland #africanescapades #overlandafrica #elephants #elephantsofinstagram #explore #travelphotography #wanderlust #africaroadtrip #travelhappy
Wilderness Safari's Damaraland Camp was a sight for sore eyes (and sore bums) after travelling 250km with no shocks over 4x4 roads to make it there! #wearewilderness #damaraland #namibia #wanderlust #explore #traveler #travelblogger #livealifeyoulove
Heading south through the Purros Valley we found one of the mysterious "Lone Men" that have been hidden throughout the Kaokoland region by an unknown artist. We also found the horizon filled with mysterious mirages and mountains colored with amazing blends of red/orange/purples #namibia #natureisamazing #yourshot #traveler #overlanders #overlandafrica #roadtripafrica #wanderlust #livealifeyoulove
